Our Mission

HART started in Elk Grove as way to assist and provide resources to people experiencing homelessness. What began in one neighborhood as one organization became a model for a movement in the greater Sacramento area.  We are a collaborative movement between community members, faith-based organizations, businesses, and local nonprofits dedicated to serving our unhoused neighbors.

Our History & Growth

Elk Grove HART was the first HART founded in 2010.  Since then, HART has expanded to nine more communities: Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, Carmichael, Folsom, North Sacramento, Arden Arcade, South Sacramento, Midtown, and Fair Oaks/Orangevale. We are in the process of startinga chapter in Amador County.

Each HART group creates its own mission dedicated to the needs of their unhoused neighbors in their local community.

HART makes it possible to serve people experiencing homelessness where they are and provide services for them in the communities in which they reside.
